BLACK SEA -
Investigation of IT requirements of Black Sea Ports
The aim of the study
is the development of a business process re-engineering
methodology framework (in order to achieve optimised combined
transport operations), specifically designed for small or
medium Black Sea port operations. Tasks: 1. Business Modelling
Methodology 2. Analysis of port operation 3. Process Re-engineering
4. Port Re-engineering Methodology.
CEE4th -
Participation of Central and Eastern European Countries in
the 4th Framework Programme
The aim of this study is the formulation of accompanying
actions that will assist organizations from all Central
and Eastern European countries to be involved in Community
R&D programmes under the 4th Framework Programme. It includes
procedures for both preparation of proposals and project
management issues. In this project are involved experts
from 10 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
COMEX 1 -
Exploitation of ESPRIT Results - Technical Days
In the framework of
COMEX 1 ARCHIMEDIA S.A. offers services to the European
Commission. The following tasks have been performed: - Preparation
of a guide of ESPRIT projects to be distributed through
the relay centers network. - Coordination of the preparation
of technical-promotional fiches on ESPRIT results that will
be distributed through the relay centers network to all
European countries. - Organisation of technical days in
Greece in the exploitation of the results of specific ESPRIT
projects.
DISCOMI -
OMI Technology Disseminations
The overall objective
of the DISCOMI project is to improve the visibility of OMI
(Open Microprocessor Initiative) and of its commercially
available results in particular to the widest possible audience
of industrial SMEs and academia, through the facilitation
and co-ordination of various dissemination activities.
EDI-Loc -
Investigation of the potential and feasibility of EDI technology
for Local Administration
The study aims in investigating
the potential and feasibility of using EDI technology for
the coordination of local administrations at regional and
national level in Greece. This is to be seen in the general
framework of development of EDI for Public Administration
in Europe in view of the adoption of the IDA (Interchange
of Data between Administrations) action. A generalized overview
of the Greek Legislation issues affecting the use of EDI
for Local Administration activities will be conducted in
the study. The study also concentrates on the problem of
the availability of standard EDI messages for Local Administration
activities. The adequacy of current EDIFACT standards has
been investigated and a general proposal about the nature
of standard messages for Local Administration has been formulated.
HPCN-DAGR -
High Performance Computing and Networking Dissemination
Within this project
a series of dissemination activities, concernning the area
of High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN), have
been organised in order to achieve the objectives of: a)
Promoting the introduction of HPCN techniques to SMEs and
disseminating the benefits of advanced networking systems,
b) Providing both users and technology providers with timely
information on HPCN development in Europe through an Internet
WWW server and c) Designing and introducing distance learning
issues in selected areas of HPCN.

HPCN-GR -
Development of HPCN applications in Greece
A feasibility study to access the situation in Greece related to High Performance Computing and Networking and to propose specific actions aiming at promoting the introduction of HPCN applications to the local SMEs and also help the SMEs to benefit from Community actions foreseen in the new RTD Framework.
INNO - An
INspection Technology Transfer NOde
Technology Transfer
Nodes (TTN) forms an important component of the ESPRIT 4th
Framework Programme HPCN PST activities. TTNs are networked
to facilitate technology transfer, exchange of experience
and expertise, and dissemination of results between them.
They form a supporting superstructure for a group of regionally
based industry-led PST actions. INNO is a Greek TTN which
main focus is on the promotion of HPCN applications in industry
and SMEs. The objectives of the node are: (1) to demonstrate
the feasibility of HPCN applications in industry; (2) to
capture user requirements; (3) to disseminate results and
promote best practice; (4) to provide high level technical
support, training and consulting to the users.

NOW - Not
Only Wildfires
NOW is a Technology
transfer and support activity within the Esprit Programme,
with the following objectives: 1) Decision Support Technology
Cluster Development Provide a cluster of technologies produced
by the Esprit programme for decision support in environmental
and other emergencies (EDSS ='environmental DSS' and 'DSS
for emergency management'). The technical content of the
projects and their spin-offs, as well as their engineering
and commercialisation status will be considered. 2) Product/Service
Client Specifications The technology cluster will be a tool
to identify generic answers for a range of common requirements
in application domains of paramount importance for Mediterranean
and Central European countries, such as DSS for the prevention
of the devastating effects of fire and other natural emergencies.
3) Technology Transfer Implementation Transferring results
of existing RTD projects to national and regional Public
Administrations. 4 case studies will be developed with the
involvement of public institutions and SMEs at regional
level; in each region an advanced technology transfer centre
(TTC) will push the utilization of Esprit-derived EDSS-related
technologies.
FUSE-TTN -
A Technology Transfer Node for FUSE (First Users Action)
FUSE is of technology
transfer program, which aims at the staple use of microelectronics
from small to medium European enterprises (SMEs). FUSE supports
new enterprises through the Technology Transfer Nodes (TTN),
which cover all European territories.
